Bloodborne Pathogens

American Heart Association’s Online – Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogen Training (OSHA) course is an online-based training that teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. The course complies with all federal (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instructions.

Students receive an online key code to access the eLearning materials and complete the course. Students will receive a one year certification through the American Heart Association upon completion of the course.

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course is designed for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as:

  • Correctional Officers
  • Childcare workers
  • Security guards
  • Maintenance workers
  • School personnel
  • Hotel housekeepers
  • Health and fitness club staff
  • Tattoo artists
