I am Dr. Anberitha Matthews, Vascular Scientist. I am excited to assist you on your health journey.

Hello, it is my desire to write blogs that are scientifically based information to assist in improving vascular health. Additionally, I intend to post recipes that are linked to cutting-edge research that will reduce vascular inflammation that result in high blood pressure, diabetes, metabolic disease, obesity, and heart health.

Cardiovascular disease and its symptoms has plagued industrialized nations for generations with no cure in sight. As time has progressed, and hypertension guidelines changed. Once the new blood pressure guidelines came online this year, changing the range from 140/80 mmHg to 120/80 mmHg, more Americans have been classified as being pre-hypertensive (120/80 mmHg) or hypertensive (190/100. Redefining Health is established to coach individuals on taking control of their health care and subsequently reducing vascular injury that results from a less than optimal lifestyle. I intend to assist clients in living a lifestyle that is heart smart by taking on the American Heart Association’s Life Simple Seven format. These guidelines encourages:
a. Control Cholesterol
b. Reduce Blood sugar
c. Promotion of exercise
d. Eat a healthy diet
e. Maintain a healthy weight
f. Stop smoking
It is well understood that there are both modifiable and non-modifiable factors that lead to heart disease including genetics, age, sex as well as diet, exercise and lifestyle. Additionally, research has suggested diet is one of the best weapons individuals have to combat cardiovascular disease while exercise enhances the length and quality of life. Metabolic diseases including hypertension and diabetes has been thought to result from calories in verses calories spent. This myth has now been realized as a disease in itself, with cholesterol at its root due to the increase in oxidative stress.
The goal of Redefining Health, LLC is to assist clients with maintaining healthy metabolic levels and becoming advocates of their own health and wellness. Clients will learn in this program how to identify foods that are best for their body type, shop for grocery to maintain healthy eating patterns, perform the best exercise for their ability levels, in addition to identifying with their inner being for financial and spiritual enlightenment as a means of connecting with themselves
